Lab #5

Introduction This lab was about seed germination in two different treatment; in the dark condition (in a closet) and in the light condition (outside). By dividing the class in four groups, two groups worked with dark seed condition, and the others two with the light condition. The question to follow was, can plants germinate in the dark? and the Hypothesis, the plants cannot grow in the dark . Each group received samples (6*6) it's mean that each sample has 36 cups that were planted with four seed each one.

What was our the control for this experiment?
It was light control, by using the dark treatment, and discovered that plant germinate in the dark but they cannot do photosynthesis, so it was the difference between dark and light treatments.

What is the percent germination for the light treatment? for the dark treatment?

Dark Treatment Dividing the numbers of germination by number of seed planted, the result is the percent of germination. for example: 101/144*100= 70.14%101=Total of seed germination 144=total of seed planted.
 Light Treatment

69=Total of seed germination 144=Total of seed planted 69/144*100=48%

This is a graph about the germination percent by treatment.

The following graph is about the height percent of both treatment; Light and Dark.
The following graph is a comparison between Dark and Light treatment base on their weigh before and after.

  1. Hi Raquel,
Good job on your assignment. Your grade is 6/7. You missed 1 points because you missed the comparison on what happened to the plants in the dark and light treatment. And your graphs are missing the labeling on the x and y axis.
